ABST 041 – AGAINST INTERPRETATION “.1” CS (Sold Out)

Boris Oicherman’s musical debut, Against Interpretation is focused on precise rhythms that are complex and minimal at the same time. Soundscapes of ambient loops, sequences, and dub explorations have been composed using Jaki Liebezeit’s E-T system, where rhythms are built by combining dots (single strikes) and dashes (double strikes), similar to Morse code.

The compositions are created with 4 Moog synths (3 DFAMs and a Subharmonicon), electric bass, and Ableton Live. You will hear influences from Secret Rhythms by Burnt Friedman and Jaki Liebezeit, German electronic dub staples like Pole, Deadbeat and Basic Channel, with touches of Jah Wobble and Bill Laswell mixed in for good measure. This album will also appeal to fans of Ami Shavit, Ryoji Ikeda, or CoH.

This record is dedicated to the memory of Jaki Liebezeit.

Very limited edition of 30 copies.
